Q: How big is the center well of the ClimbUp® ?
A: The diameter of the center well is 4 1/4" so it is large enough to
accommodate the rolling casters found on many metal bed legs.
Q: Do I take the tape off the ClimbUp® ?
A: No, do not remove the paper tape. The paper provides the fibrous
surface for the bed bugs to climb up. If you remove it in error, it can be
replaced with paper wound tape available at your local drugstore.
Q: Is the talc lubricating the ClimbUp® a special talc?
A: No, any talc will act as a lubricant on the slick plastic plastic
surface. Talc is commonly available as body talcum powder, tire talc for
lubricating inner tubes, and hand talc for sliding shuffleboard/pool cues.
DIRECTIONS
Precautionary Statements MSDS
- Climbup™ insect interceptors are not intended to be a control
measure for bed bugs. While they may assist in the control of a bed bug
infestation, their intended use is as a monitor for bed bugs. This
device can be used pro-actively, as an early detection device, in
dwellings that are not already infested and can be used to assess if
control methods have been effective by intercepting bed bugs as they
travel to beds, couches, or other furniture in search of a blood
meal.
- Climbup™ insect interceptors may not be able to be used with certain beds or couches.
- Climbup™ insect interceptors may need to be re-lubricated with talcum powder from time to time.
Talcum
powder (talc) is used to lubricate these devices to prevent bed bugs
from escaping the capture wells. Over time, it is possible that the
talc becomes brushed off and may need to be reapplied.
- If humans or pets are not sleeping on bed or couch, bed bugs will not be attracted into device.
- Furniture legs may break through the inner well when plush carpeting is present.
- Live bugs may be present on, in, or around Climbup™ insect interceptors.
